Traders, 

We all want to know how to trade today. 

What will price action do today ?

To answer this question, I analyze what price action did on the Higher Time Frame (HTF) first. 

We use the S&P 500 to analyze the markets because it resembles the price action on SPY. 

On the monthly chart, we see a long rejection wick from an area of interest from the April candle.

This tells us we’re potentially looking for bullish setups. 

The weekly candle this week is bearish right now.

Last week was a bullish candle that closed above the previous week’s candle. 

The price is retracting at the moment but we’re still bullish at this point. 

Now, let’s analyze the daily chart.

We gapped down on Monday and Tuesday. 

Price has been bearish before FOMC. 

We could potentially be looking at the low of the week today or tomorrow. 

One thing to look out for is Friday’s low.

We don’t want to see a daily candle close below that level if we are still bullish in the market. 

Now, let’s get to today’s price action and how we could potentially trade. 

I’d watch out for the key level I identified at 5,655.

If we trade through and start taking out the London and Asia highs, we could be bullish today. 

If not, look for bearish setups.

However, the day before a major economic event tends to trade sideways.

We saw this last Thursday, which was the day before NFP. (see below)

As a smart trader, you consider everything and react to the price action. 

In your mind, you must think like…. If this, then that.

Don’t predict, just react. 

That’s why we talked about several things the market could potentially do. 

As a smart trader, if the market doesn’t align with any of your setups, don’t trade. 

Sometimes, even the best traders sit on their hands until there is clarity. 

So for today, I want to see how the market reacts to that key area I pointed out.
