So I’m writing this from somewhere in the Dolomites after an absolutely insane day.
No zones today, but honestly?
Sometimes the best trading insights come when you’re NOT staring at charts.
I’m on this Porsche trip through Europe – we’re taking a convoy of 911s hitting 300 kph on the highways, then hugging cliffs and punching it through mountain passes.
And yes, before you ask, I’m driving. Because I’m a baddie.
We stopped for this little appetizer spread and I thought those green things were olives. Nope.
Pickled peaches. Which, holy shit, are actually amazing. But it got me thinking about assumptions in trading.
How many times do you look at a setup and think “oh, this looks like my usual pattern” only to find out it’s something completely different?
Happens to me all the time.
Especially when I’m trying to trade while the Ukrainian is taking hairpin turns at ridiculous speeds.
Today’s Market Was Pure Chaos
The Dow dropped 341 points while I was discovering my new favorite snack. Banks got absolutely hammered – even though some of them beat earnings. Classic “sell the news” action.
But here’s what cracked me up: Nvidia jumped 4% on news about resuming GPU sales to China.
So the Nasdaq actually closed GREEN while everything else was bleeding red.
This is exactly why we trade zones instead of trying to predict which way the wind blows!
The Thing That Hit Me Today
You know what I realized while staring at these ridiculous mountain views?
Trading doesn’t have to be this stressful thing that consumes your life.
I’m literally on vacation, driving supercars through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and I’m not worried about missing trades or whether the market’s going to gap down tomorrow. That feels… weird?
But good weird.
That’s the power of having zones you trust and a mechanical approach that doesn’t require you to guess what’s going to happen next.
When the algos start going crazy during Fed speeches, just stick to the plan.
Enter the zone, manage the position, take profits at target. Same as always.
The system works whether I’m watching every tick or trying not to drive off a cliff. Pretty sure that’s the definition of a good system, right?
Anyway, back to eating pickled peaches and pretending I’m ready for the Porsche Supercup.
