I Moved One Thing and the Rally Disappeared

That whole move up to these highs was BS.

I don’t mean last week’s selling.

I mean the run before it, the one everybody’s calling a healthy consolidation right now.

I pulled it apart on my chart today by accident, showing somebody in my room how volume profile works, and it’s fake. All of it.

If you’re long up here thinking last week was the dip, you need to see this. It’s the opposite of a parabolic run, and it’s where the next real move comes from.

So on my charts I run something called volume profile. All it does is show you where the most shares actually traded, by price, not by time.

The dark band is where 70% of the trading happened. We call that value. It’s where the market agreed on a price and did business there.

Frank wanted to know why it matters, so I told him, watch it move, and I dragged the window forward. And it shifted, yeah. But not the way it’s supposed to.

When a market rallies for real, value moves up with it, because people are actually buying up there.

This one ran, then stalled, and value only crawled higher because we’ve been sitting in the same consolidation for weeks. The only reason it shifted is that we consolidated.

This entire move was BS, you guys.

You know how everyone talks about a parabolic run, price straight up and the volume right there with it?

Why don’t we ever talk about the opposite? Because that’s what we have.

A stagnant run.

Price went up, value didn’t, and the only reason value’s up here at all is that we stopped moving.

And listen, we had a nice little pump and dump this morning, relief day, I don’t trust it. I’m not telling you to short it. The path of least resistance is lower, and that’s my lean, but a stagnant run can stagnate for a long time.

The real move starts when we get back down to the bottom of this box and something about AI or rates freaks people out.

Mark thinks Meta Wednesday night is the one to watch. I think he’s right.

Your homework:

Put volume profile on a daily SPY chart, most charting platforms have it, and drag the window from the September lows to today. Watch where the dark band sits. Then tell me if anybody bought this rally.

Rock On,

Voz
