The most dangerous traders are making money right now
- Olivia Voz
The last few years have been incredible for buy-and-hold. Just keep buying the dip, right? SPY to the moon. Everything goes up eventually.
That’s created the most dangerous type of trader: the one who’s gotten comfortable being right about direction.
I’ve got 300 traders who don’t think in bulls and bears. They think in zones. And that’s why they’ve got an 87% win rate while everyone else is about to get their faces ripped off.
The Comfort Trap That Kills Accounts
Traders who killed it in 2024 and 2025 start thinking they’re market geniuses. They’ve figured out the game. They know which way SPY is headed.
Then volatility shows up. Suddenly their “buy every dip” strategy stops working. But instead of adapting, they double down. Because hey, it worked for two years, right?
That’s not trading. That’s religion. And religion doesn’t pay bills when the market changes direction.
The Question That Saves Careers
I ask my traders one question: “Are you trading this setup, or are you trading your opinion about where the market should go?”
If you’re buying calls because “the market has to go up eventually,” that’s opinion trading.
If you’re buying puts because “we’re due for a correction,” that’s opinion trading.
If you’re buying calls or puts because price hit your zone with clear risk parameters, that’s actual trading.
Why I Don’t Celebrate Bull Markets
While everyone’s riding this Santa Rally, I’m watching my traders practice the discipline that’ll keep them alive when conditions change.
Because they will change.
We bought calls in March that worked. We bought puts in August that worked. We sat on our hands in October when there were no clean setups.
Same system. Different directions. Consistent profits.
What 2026 Will Test
I think we’re headed for serious volatility next year. The kind that separates real traders from people who’ve just been lucky betting on one direction.
The “buy every dip” crowd might finally learn why risk management matters.
My traders are ready. Not because they’re predicting it, but because they’ve learned to profit from whatever the market gives them.
While everyone else argues about crash or rally, we’ll just be trading the zones.
Because real traders don’t fall in love with markets. We trade them.
