Friday’s Chaos: When Both Zones Hit
- Olivia Voz
Gamers,
Friday was absolutely insane.
SPY opened at 667.91, crashed to 661.2, then somehow rallied back to close green at 670.97.
And I had zones covering both moves.
The Morning Alert
Here’s what I sent out at market open:
Put Zone
When SPY has a clean break into 666.88
Buy To Open the SPY Nov 7 665 Put.
Target is 665.60 and 664.33
Low Probability Call Zone
When SPY has a clean break into 669.31
Buy To Open the SPY Nov 7 670 Call.
Target to sell is when SPY reaches 670.59
The Put Zone Reality
Market opened already near the put zone – high risk because we were basically opening in it.
Most people stayed out because options were crazy expensive and opening in zones is always sketchy.
Smart move. But those who played it got rewarded fast when SPY crashed to 661.2.
Put zone demolished both targets. Zone completed, move on.
The Afternoon Surprise
After that morning massacre, nobody expected what happened next.
SPY started climbing back from the grave.
And then late afternoon – boom. Clean break into the call zone at 669.31.
The Call Zone Heroes
Now here’s where it gets interesting. I don’t usually trade late-day zones, but some of you legends jumped on it anyway.
Jazzman with the clutch play: “I can’t believe this call zone worked before end of day. I bought Nov 10 670 calls just before 3pm… In 2.71 out 3.23”
19% winner when most people had written the day off.
dzeman41 playing XSP: “I bought 671c when they just came in the money–sold for a 21% gain”
Reign going absolutely nuclear: 0.69 to 2.57 for 272%, then 2.71 for 293%. Nearly 300% on Friday afternoon chaos.
The Double Setup
Think about this: I called BOTH directions.
Put zone for the morning crash.
Call zone for the afternoon rally.
Two completely opposite moves.
The Community Execution
While I stayed out of the late-day action, you guys showed exactly why this community works.
Jazzman ignoring the 3pm rule because the zone triggered before deadline.
Reign turning Friday afternoon into rent money.
dzeman41 keeping it simple and profitable.
The Friday Psychology
dcpaulson58 sweating it out: “Time is working against me…”
mountainzen bailing early: “looks like I should have stayed in”
jerryraiber taking a morning hit.
Friday tested everyone’s patience and discipline.
The Real Lesson
From 667.91 to 661.2 back to 670.97.
Two zones. Two completely different directions. Both worked perfectly.
I set up both plays. You guys executed the afternoon magic while I watched from the sidelines.
The Late-Day Legends
The call zone triggered before 3pm, making it technically valid.
But late-day options trading isn’t my thing – theta decay, low liquidity, all that mess.
You guys said “screw it” and made it work anyway.
Weekend Wisdom
Next time you see zones in both directions, remember Friday.
Sometimes the market wants to test every level in the same session.
Morning chaos. Afternoon recovery. Both opportunities there for those who stayed alert.
I’ll stick to my morning and midday zones, but damn – respect to everyone who caught that late-day call zone magic.
Rock,
Voz
P.S. – Two zones, two directions, both winners. Sometimes the best trades happen when I’m not even playing. 🎯
