Hey Gamers!
Today was pure market chaos. SPY dropped nearly 8 points from 651.21 to 643.33, and our chat was buzzing with individual traders banking massive wins on put plays.
But here’s what separates the Zone approach from gambling: We had the right direction, but our zone never triggered.
What Actually Happened
I sent out a 643 put zone after the jobs report chaos hit. The market was screaming lower, individual traders were crushing it on puts, and everything looked perfect for a zone entry.

But the zone required a 5-minute candle close inside the purple box – and it never happened.
Hannah confirmed it in real-time: “Never got the 5m close inside”
MattMan backed it up: “no it didnt close in the 5 min candle”
My final call… “No trigger”
Why This Is Actually GENIUS
While traders in our chat were banking wins on individual put plays, our systematic approach kept us disciplined. Here’s why that matters:
Direction Was Perfect: The put bias was 100% correct. The market dropped exactly as anticipated.
Entry Rules Saved Us: That “missed” entry could have been a whipsaw. Zones that don’t trigger cleanly often reverse quickly.
Discipline Over FOMO: When you see 8-point drops and people posting wins, every instinct screams “jump in!” Our system says “wait for the setup.”
The Real Lesson
I’ll admit – I was “kind of pissy” about not sending the zone earlier due to the gap up. But that’s exactly the wrong mindset.
The Zone approach isn’t about catching every move. It’s about catching the RIGHT moves with the RIGHT risk management.
What Friday Taught Us
Looking Ahead
With Fed cut probabilities spiking and September volatility ramping up, we’re going to get plenty more opportunities. The key is waiting for clean zone triggers instead of chasing moves.
Friday’s “missed” trade is exactly why our approach works long-term. We trade probability, not possibilities.
Rock on, Gamers!
